NIL: the independent partner in certification and training
Within the world of joining techniques, the Netherlands Institute for Welding Technology (NIL) has been a household name since 1934. The NIL is at the basis of the welding technology professional and sector training by means of curriculum development and examination. In addition, the NIL is an accredited certification body for companies and individuals.
Why Elektrolas has chosen NIL
The NIL approaches the market just as Elektrolas does. By sharing knowledge and working together. The NIL is a Notified Body (NOBO), but seeks cooperation and is happy to help welders in the Netherlands. They are an independent welding institute in the Netherlands and have RvA accreditation for personal and company certification. This makes the NIL the perfect addition to our Training & Quality Management departments.

The NIL focuses on three pillars: education, certification and information. Elektrolas has been an Authorised Organisation of the NIL since 2013 for Welding Qualifications (LK) and since 2017 also for Welding Method Qualifications (LMK). Since 2021 Elektrolas has been assigned as an Approved Training Institute by the NIL in the field of education.

Authorised organisations
In order to administer welding method qualifications (LMK) and/or welder qualifications (LK), the NIL has authorised a number of organisations to do so on its behalf. They cooperate intensively with these Authorised Organisations in the field of standards knowledge and applications. In addition, clear agreements are made so that they are reliable and specialized companies. Elektrolas is an Authorized Organization of the NIL for LKs and LMKs.
Recognised trainers
Good and reliable education is one of the most important instruments for keeping the welding profession at a high level. The NIL wants to remain independent and does not organise any training itself. It maintains and promotes the quality of welding training by supervising the performance of the trainers. In this way the NIL can objectively examine, certify and issue diplomas. Elektrolas is an accredited trainer of the NIL.
